We both went to Bowdoin College and just barely crossed paths. We met again in California when Jamie came out to visit Scripps. We live in Boston, where Meka is studying medicine at Tufts University and Jamie is a sixth year graduate student in physical oceanography at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Jamie is hoping to graduate this year. We like camping and hiking a lot and try to take advantage of the myriad outdoor options. Before moving to Boston we've had some excellent trips in California to the Anza Borrego, Channel Islands, and Mt Whitney. That's us on top of Mt Whitney in the middle picture above. We climbed Mt Whitney with seven of our friends. Farther afield, we had a great trip to Scotland two summers ago with Jamie's family, Kathy, Hal, and Dave. This past summer we enjoyed hiking in northern Spain. We just got back from a wonderful winter vacation tramping around the South Island of New Zealand with Meka's parents, Betsy and Viktor!

Meka has quite the green thumb and keeps our garden beautiful. Jamie likes using the things she grows to cook the occasional scrumptious dinner. We both like running.
